in a Client-Server-based KDD Architecture Vera Kamp and Roland Grupe University of Oldenburg, FB Informatik Escherweg 2, D-26121 Oldenburg, Germany [email protected] Abstract In this paper we present an advanced approach to provide database system support for KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Databases) systems. Based on an extensible database system we developed a clientserver-based KDD architecture. The processing of KDD speci c queries uses a semantic client cache with content-based element descriptions. Our approach provides new mechanisms to exploit the high locality of the working set generated by interactive KDD processes.
